BARNSTABLE – Real estate numbers released by the county shows market activity last month was slightly busier than this time last year.
The volume of sales from October 2013 was up 0.6 percent, with the value of sales raising 6.6 percent.
“We had an okay October, all things considered, and we’re maintaining with last year’s activity levels across the board effectively,” said Barnstable County Register of Deeds Jack Meade.
The value of homes in Barnstable County are also increasing, with the median home price sitting at $325,000. “We’re working our way up to the low to mid three hundred thousand number, so that’s a positive sign,” Meade said.
Foreclosures are also declining in Barnstable County; there were nine last month, resulting in a total of 109 for the year.
