HYANNIS – Barnstable native Casey Sherman, who co-authored “The Finest Hours” which was turned into a movie, will now tackle the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl run.

Sherman and his collaborator David Wedge will tell quarterback Tom Brady’s story from Deflategate to the come from behind win in the Super Bowl.

“It’s the ultimate redemption story really and we’re very excited to tell that story, we want to be objective in how we report on it and how we make the movie as well,” said Sherman.

Both recently wrote “Boston Strong” about the city’s marathon bombings that got made into the movie “Patriots Day” and have a book due out later this year about Pete Frates, his battle with ALS and how it inspired the “Ice Bucket Challenge”.

Sherman said that the book will focus on the controversies around “Deflategate” and will talk with people in the locker room will tell the story accurately.

Screenwriters for “Patriots Day” and “Finest Hours” reached out to Sherman and Wedge about the idea to pen the book and later turn it into a movie.

The book could take about a year to finish but the movie may take longer.

“Everybody’s very hot on the story, everybody loves this story and we are the right people to tell it,” said Sherman.
