BARNSTABLE – The Town of Barnstable has produced its first arts and culture brochure that promotes and details venues and activities across all seven villages in town.

The glossy fold-out flyer includes maps of the town with locations ranging from libraries to art galleries and theaters, among others.

Melissa Hersh, the town’s arts and culture coordinator, said that the brochure gives visitors a comprehensive look at culture related activities across the entire town, not just the business hub of Hyannis.

“You can now take a look at this and have a nice, easy map around downtown Hyannis, Barnstable Village, and it shows visitors how easy it is to get around to all seven villages,” said Hersh.

The brochure also includes a map of the Kennedy Legacy Trail, an educational self-guided walking tour in downtown Hyannis that traces the history of the Kennedy family in the village.

“Barnstable is a county, it’s a town, and it’s a village and this is trying to let everyone know that we have exactly what the town encompasses,” said Hersh.
