Barnstable Town Council Meeting to Focus on Economy

BARNSTABLE – Those looking to learn more about economic development in Barnstable should attend this week’s Town Council meeting.

The session at town hall on Thursday will begin at 7 p.m. and feature presentations from Massachusetts Office of Business Development Southeast Regional Director Maria Marasco, the Seaport Council and MassDevelopment Vice President of Business Development Larry Cameron.

Additionally, over 30 capital projects will be reviewed for the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget.

One such project calls for $4,286,000 to be appropriated for funding the Barnstable Community Horace Mann Charter Public School roof and façade improvement effort.

A wastewater treatment plant improvement will require $1,289,505.

An appropriation and transfer order in the amount of $3,250,000 will be requested to fund the Public Roads Improvement program.
