BREWSTER – A millennia-old tradition will be taught in Brewster for four weeks beginning Tuesday.

A beekeeping course will take place Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Route 6A until February 28th.

The course will cover required hardware, biology of the honeybee, beekeeping tasks throughout the seasons, honey harvesting and hive health.

It will be co-taught by George Muhlebach, who has over 30 years’ experience, as well as Nancy Hipp, a field guide and bee docent volunteer.

The cost to register is $60, but those who volunteer to assist with 4 summer hive openings during the upcoming season will receive a $25 rebate.

To register, call the museum at (508) 896-3867, ext. 133.
