Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth Receives National Recognition

PLYMOUTH – Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth has been named a Leapfrog Top Hospital for the first time.

Previously, the hospital has received three “A” ratings over the last two years from the Leapfrog Group for outstanding patient safety and quality scores.

Top Hospital designation is one of the most prestigious distinctions a hospital can receive in the country.

“For the last two years, BID-Plymouth has received three A ratings for our dedication to providing patients with the highest level of quality, safety, and outcomes,” says John Connolly, MD, Vice President of Medical Management and Chief of Anesthesia. “To now receive the Leapfrog Top Hospital designation is a testament to our programs, employees, nurses, and physicians who work together to ensure extraordinary patient care.”

BID-Plymouth received a Top General Hospital distinction, and was one of 115 Top Hospitals recognized across the country.

BID-Plymouth was one of only two in Massachusetts to receive the Top Hospital honor.

The selection of Top Hospitals is based on the results of the 2016 Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

Performance across many areas of hospital care is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including infection rates, maternity care, and a hospital’s ability to prevent medication errors.
