FALMOUTH – A bicyclist suffered serious head and facial injuries and was medflighted to Boston after he was found unconscious on Jones Road in Falmouth around 10 p.m. last night.
Lt. Brian Kinsella said the 53-year-old man suffered a lasceration to his forehead and had facial swelling from the result of the accident.
Police investigated a car that was thought to be involved but determined damage was from a previous accident.
Kinsella said that witnesses found the man face down with his legs still tangled in the bicycle and a bystander removed the man from the bicycle before police arrived on scene.
Police believe the bicyclist fell onto his face and that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
The events which led to the accident are unknown and police are still investigating.
