Board Says No To Dennis Village Dunkin Donuts Sign

Dunkin Donuts Reportedly For SaleDENNIS – A Dennis village business owner’s proposal to put up a sign advertising Dunkin’ Donuts products was turned down.

The Dennis Planning Board rejected the proposal by the owner of the Cape Cod Farms store. The board does not have control over whether the owner carries Dunkin’ Donuts goods, but they do have control over any signage advertising those products.

Residents opposed to the plan argue the sign would be at odds with the village’s character.

“We certainly don’t want to look like Route 132 in Hyannis” said Village Improvement Society  of Dennis President Carole Bell. “We have a beautiful village center and people appreciate that, and that was evident at the meeting,” Bell added.

The owner could choose to appeal the decision.
