Boston Firefighter Who Lives in Centerville Charged with Child Rape

BARNSTABLE – A Centerville man pleaded not guilty to 3 counts of rape of a child with force and one count of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14 Wednesday in Barnstable District Court.

Edward Kulik Jr., 56, is a lieutenant with the Boston Fire Department and was released on $3,500 bail.

According to Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe’s office, conditions of Kulik’s release include wearing a GPS monitoring device and staying away from all persons under 16.

Kulik must also stay away from mentoring programs, any school with children under 16, and avoid all contact with any alleged victims.

He has reportedly worked on mentoring programs with children on Cape Cod in the past. The alleged rapes happened in 2010.

Kulik will be back in court for a pre-trial on April 24.
