BOURNE – The Bourne Democratic Town Committee will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Bourne Veterans Memorial Community Center in Buzzards Bay.
The featured speaker is Susan Truitt, a member of the steering committee for Cape & Islands Stronger Together.
Pocasset resident John Carroll will give an update of Bourne Rail Trail activities, and the agenda also includes discussions pertaining to the upcoming town election and the recent Democratic State Committee meeting.
The Cape and Islands Stronger Together formed immediately after the November election, Truitt said, in response to a “truly massive cry from folks saying “Let’s do something”.
“Our challenge is to channel the energy of the hundreds of people who have come to us out of sadness, anger and fear to bring about positive change,” she said. “Many of these people have never been connected to advocacy or campaigning.”
The meeting is open to the public.
