EASTHAM – Officals were called to a serious crash on Route 6 in Eastham Saturday afternoon. The crash happened about 4:30 PM by Log Cabin Farm where two lanes drop to one lane before the Orleans rotary. One vehicle reportedly rolled over and a utility pole was also struck.
Three people were seriously injured. An Orleans Ambulance was called to assist with transporting victims to Cape Cod Hospital.
One lane headed to Provincetown was getting by but traffic headed up Cape was being rerouted around the scene causing extensive delays to already heavy holiday weekend traffic. The crash is under investigation by Eastham Police.
Meanwhile, about an hour later, another crash happened on the back roads in Eastham at the intersection of Massasoit and Herringbrook Roads. Some victims were evaluated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
