Brewster Ponds Coalition Hosts “Bike to Pond” Event

Long PondBREWSTER – The Brewster Ponds Coalition is hosting a “Bike to Pond” event on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Nickerson State Park.

Members of the Coalition will take participants on a 3.5 mile bike tour over paved trails and roads and includes stops at Triangle, Keeler’s, Cliff, Little Cliff, Higgins and Flax Ponds.

Participants can also take a one-mile round-trip hike along the north side of Little Cliff Pond to Higgins Pond.

“Celebrating our wonderful kettle ponds is an important part of the mission of the Brewster Ponds Coalition,” said Tom Vautin, President of the Brewster Ponds Coalition. “What better way to enjoy the beauty of this valuable natural resource than having a great time with friends on a summer afternoon.”

Naturalist Todd Kelley will also provide facts about the park and ponds during the event.
