COTUIT – The Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit kicks off its 2017 season next month with a significant and large-scale opening exhibit.
“A Painter’s Journey” is a retrospective of Italian-born American artist Paul Moro.
Moro’s oil paintings show off a vision of Cape Cod in the early 20th century.
The Cape was an influence and inspiration to Moro and is where he created some of his most memorable works.
His style ranges from Post-Impressionist and Impressionist to Realist.
Moro’s works include scenes of Cape Cod, along with Hudson River industrial sites.
The exhibit will display 85 original paintings throughout five galleries in the museum.
The works have never before been shown on Cape Cod and are rarely shown elsewhere.
A free public reception will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
The exhibit runs from March 15 through April 30.
