Thousands Participate in Cape Cod Marathon in Falmouth

Running Race2FALMOUTH – Cape Cod Marathon Weekend concluded Sunday with the full 26.2 mile marathon starting at 8:30 a.m.

The one-loop course began and ended at the Village Green in Falmouth center.

Although the course is not closed to traffic, the roads are monitored by police and numerous volunteers and delays should be expected

Men’s and women’s first place overall runners will win $500 each.

Around 1,000 participants are expected to run the course.

The marathon concludes weekend long events including a relay event and a half marathon.

The half marathon run yesterday featured 1,200 runners and Bryan Morseman, of Bath, New York, had the fastest time at 1 hour, 10 minutes and 15 seconds.

Brookline resident Melissa Henry paced the women’s field with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes and 24 seconds.
