Cape Cod Museum of Art to Hold Collecting Art Discussion

DENNIS – Trends in the art world are always changing and a panel of experts will discuss collecting art from several perspectives next month at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis.

“Collecting Art in the 21st Century: Why, Where and How” will be held August 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The program will feature a panel which will include an art gallery owner, an auction house representative, a museum director and an avid art collector to discuss collecting art for both experienced collectors and beginners.

The panel will be moderated by art writer Deborah Forman and includes Berta Walker the owner of Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown, the director of Contemporary Art at Bonhams Auction House in New York Ingrid Dudek, Edith Tonelli, the director of the Cape Cod Museum of Art and art collector Leonard Lewis who began collecting in the 1950s.

The program is part of the museum’s ARTfull Thursday series. Admission is $15, $12 for members.
