Cape Cod Saltworks Donates Business to Cape Abilities

CCSSS donationHYANNIS – The founders of Cape Cod Saltworks Sea Salt donated their sea salt-making business to Cape Abilities, a Cape Cod non-profit supporting people with disabilities.

“It will be the same briny salt, produced in harmony with the environment by a group of individuals who are truly the salt of the earth.” said Cape Cod Saltworks Sea Salt founders Janice Burling and Penny Lewis.

The addition of the sea salt business is projected to create approximately 20 jobs for Cape Abilities and provide additional revenue to expand the organizations services.

Cape Abilities has created five entrepreneurial businesses and employs over 150 individuals with disabilities.

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to receive this amazing gift from Janice and Penny that will provide so many new opportunities for individuals we serve,” said Larry Thayer, President and Executive Director of Cape Abilities. “We will continue their tradition of producing the finest sea salt available from the waters surrounding Cape Cod.”
