FALMOUTH – One of the biggest autumn events on Cape Cod is being held this weekend at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth.
The 47th Annual Scallop Fest features a weekend of live music, kids events, car shows, arts and crafts shows, fried chicken, and, of course, plenty of fried scallops.
“The Cape Cod Scallop Fest is brand new this year,” said Marie Oliva, the President and CEO of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce. “We’ve completed changed the layout of the grounds. We have a more village-style, community-minded layout.”
The event was re-branded this year as the “Cape Cod Scallop Fest.” It was formerly known as the “Scallop Fest.” It is the largest fundraiser for the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, supporting the organization’s scholarship program, which benefits four area schools, three food panties, and provides funding for area tourist information centers.
The festival is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
