Cape Group Needs Help Filling Care Packages for Troops Overseas

CHATHAM – The grass roots military support group Cape Cod Cares For The Troops is stepping up on Saturday to fill the need for supplies for our soldiers overseas.

At this time of the year, the group is usually focused on planning for the annual Troops in the Spotlight, which is coming up Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-May 29 at the Capetown Plaza in Hyannis).

But in the last several weeks, they have received requests from deployed troops for care packages and supplies.

This Saturday April 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cape Cod Cares For The Troops will put together 300 care packages.

The Chatham VFW has offered the use of their building, and they are getting the supplies ready, writing out custom forms, printing labels.

How can you help? They could use a few volunteers to help pack these care packages. They are also in need of financial support for postage which could be as much at $4,000.

The cost of shipping a single care package is $14.00 to $15.00.

PayPal is available on their web site www.capecod4thetroops.com or mail to CCC4TT P.O. Box 1444 Harwich, MA 02645
