Cape Symphony and Cotuit Center for the Arts to Collaborate for 1st Time

HYANNIS – The Cape Symphony will partner with the Cotuit Center for the Arts for the first time for its season finale in May.

“Freedom, Expression & Hope” will include the play “Every Good Boy Deserves Favor” and “Symphony No. 5” by Dimitri Shostakovich, one of the most famous Russian symphonies of the 20th century.

“Every Good Boy Deserves Favor” is a one-act play that takes place in and around the orchestra. It is a satirical commentary on government repression with themes of freedom, personal expression and hope, along with humor.

The performance will include six local actors and the more than 70 musicians of the Cape Symphony.

Freedom, Expression & Hope will be held on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7, and will be one of dozens of events taking place as part of ArtSpring Cape Cod, which is a grassroots celebration of arts and culture from April 27 through May 7.
