NEW BEDFORD – Cape Wind has signed a lease agreement with the state to use New Bedford as a staging area for the wind farm.
Governor Deval Patrick made the announcement on the two year, 4.5 million dollar lease today.
Work is set to begin in January on the staging area at the New Bedford waterfront.
The terminal will be used to construct the 130 wind turbines for the farm.
