CCH Names New UMass Medical School Associate Dean

Cape Cod HealthcareHYANNIS – Cape Cod Healthcare has announced that Dr. Donald A. Guadagnoli has been named Associate Dean for Medical Education at Cape CodHealthcare by the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Guadagnoli, who is Chief Medical Officer at CCHC, was also appointed an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMMS.

In his role as Associate Dean, Guadagnoli will serve as the official liaison and site leader for the UMMS educational program at Cape Cod Hospital, a partnership that was announced last year.

Through the program, students at UMMS train under CCHC physicians and complete clerkships at Cape Cod Hospital in different specialty areas.

The first cohort of students began clerkship rotations at the hospital in January in general surgery, surgical subspecialties, OB/GYN and psychiatry.

“Dr. Guadagnoli has been an instrumental partner since the inception of our affiliation,” said Dr. Terence R. Flotte, Executive Deputy Chancellor, Provost and Dean of the UMass School of Medicine.

UMass School of Medicine is located in Worcester and is the state’s only public medical school and an integral part of the five-campus UMass system.

A board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, Guadagnoli has extensive background in chronic disease management, quality initiatives, insurance products and safety.

His medical degree is from The George Washington University and he did his residency at Brown University.
