The inaugural Shape Your Cape Summit was held last year at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis.
FALMOUTH – For the second straight year Cape Cod Young Professionals will hold an event next week designed to empower residents personally, professionally and philanthropically.
The daylong Shape Your Cape Summit will feature interactive workshops and panel discussions focusing on career development, civic engagement, housing, personal finance, work/life balance and health and wellness.
“It’s really an opportunity for our attendees to engage with community leaders – with the influencers – to go to workshops and panels to engage in great conversation,” said Anne Van Vleck, the organization’s executive director.
Van Vleck said organizers received positive feedback from last year’s inaugural summit.
Survey results after the event showed that 92 percent of participants said they would recommend other attend a second offering.
Van Vleck said 65 percent of attendees said they learned action steps to enrich their lives on Cape Cod through getting involved, serve on boards and town committees and taking care of themselves through professional development.
“We really enchanced a lot of the offerings for the workshops and panels,” Van Vleck said. “People were looking to dive more deeply into the topics and conversations.”
Van Vleck said they were able to secure great panelists and that they are excited to hold the event once again.
The summit is Thursday, April 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in Falmouth.

Van Vleck said Tuesday that there were still about 50 spots remaining, but that everyone was welcome at the after-hours event.
