CENTERVILLE – The Centerville Civic Association announced this morning that they are cancelling their Independence Parade due to the storm that is approaching the region.
The season’s first named storm, Arthur, was upgraded to hurricane status this morning. It is expected to head out to sea about 100 miles south of Nantucket, but the weather system is expected to bring rain to the region on Friday.
The Centerville Fourth of July Parade, an old-fashioned celebration, had been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4.
