HYANNIS – CHAMP Homes is the beneficiary of a $10,000 Partnership grant from the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation.

The grant will provide critical renovations at the CHAMP Homes main building, the Alice O’Neill House, providing residence for 25 formerly homeless men and women.

The mission of the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation is to contribute, in a meaningful way, to the health and vitality of the various eastern Massachusetts and southern and coastal New Hampshire communities served by Eastern Bank.

CHAMP Homes has been providing and maintaining a safe and nurturing family-type environment for formerly homeless individuals for 25 years.

Founded in 1991, the organization has helped over 2,500 individuals on Cape Cod.

It currently provides housing to up to 65 residents, aged 17 to 80.

“We are very excited about this grant,” said CHAMP Homes’ Executive Director Beth Wade. “The foundation told us that this was going to be extremely competitive, so we’re delighted that this grant reflects the strength of our organization and the impact it’s making in the community.”
