CHATHAM – Spring is now in full swing across Cape Cod and the Chatham Council on Aging has several events throughout May.

Each Thursday throughout the month will feature short, powerful and entertaining videos called “TED talks.”

The talks, which are from 1 to 2:30 beginning May 4, cover a wide range of topics, including Tracy Chevalier on how the painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring” inspired the novel of the same name.

A lunch and musical event will be held Monday, May 8 at noon. Yesterday’s Country Band will perform top hits from the Golden Age of country music while attendees enjoy a BBQ chicken meal.

Tickets are $9 and reservations are required.

The “Living on the Edge of the Land: Understanding the Changing Natural World Around Us” class series with Barbara Waters continues.

The second class in the series “Tree Flowers and Seeds” will be held May 3 and 10 from 10-11:30.

The class will focus on the seasonal changes in plants and how to adapt our lawns and gardens to the glacial soils of the Cape. Registration for the class is also required.
