CHATHAM – On April 30, the Chatham Music Club will pull together the best professional and amateur classical keyboard musicians from the mid-Cape for “Keyboard Classics– from Chopin to Joplin”.
Local stars including Joe Marchio, Maury Castro, Art McManus, Anne Perrault and Lucy Banner will play a varied program of piano and organ music.
Also featured are Sarah Marchio on bagpipes, Christian Holleck on cello, and others.
The concert begins at 3:00 p.m. April 30 at the Congregational Church of Chatham on Main Street near the rotary.
A $15 suggested donation at the door helps support the Music Club’s scholarship fund, which helps outstanding young and adult students to further their music studies.
It is expected to be a lively program, and classical music fans are invited.
The Chatham Music Club promotes the appreciation of classical music through performance and education.
We also sponsor a charitable scholarship program known as the Chatham Music Club Scholarship Fund which provides scholarship grants to assist in furthering music education.
Toward these objectives, CMC offers two concerts open to the public each year.
The Keyboard Concert, held in the spring, helps fund the scholarship program.
The concert features scholarship winners, selected based on auditions held earlier in the year, plus CMC members in piano and organ solos and duets.
