HARWICH – Chatham Road in Harwich will be closed until about midnight Tuesday to replace a utility pole snapped in a car accident this afternoon.

The road will be closed between Lovers Lane and Long Road.

According to Harwich Patrolman Aram Goshgarian, just after 3:15 p.m. a Toyota Camry snapped the pole in half and rolled over onto its roof.

The driver, Alecia McLean-Pryce, 39, of Harwich, was freed from the car and taken to Cape Cod Hospital and Goshgarian said the injuries were “not very serious.”

Police believe the cause of the accident distracted driving while traveling at a high rate of speed.

The accident is still being investigated, but Police said McLean-Pryce will receive a citation.
