Chatham Woman Swerves to Avoid Animal in Brewster Rollover

ER medical symbolBREWSTER – A 31-year-old Chatham woman rolled her car in Brewster early this morning on Route 39.

Brewster Fire Rescue responded to the one-car crash near the Brewster-Harwich town line at 1:30 a.m.

The driver, who was the only one in the car, had gotten out of the vehicle before rescue workers arrived, according to Brewster Police Captain Heath Eldredge.

The driver told rescue workers that the crash happened because she swerved to avoid hitting an animal and grazed a tree before the car flipped over on the side of the road.

He said she was uninjured and refused treatment. She was cited for unsafe operation of a motor vehicle.
