Officers and students at Old Navy for “Back to School Shop with a Cop” Wednesday.
HYANNIS – Police officers from towns across the Cape took 40 students shopping for “back to school” clothes Wednesday afternoon at the Old Navy in Hyannis.
Officers from the towns of Yarmouth, Barnstable, Dennis, Harwich, Chatham, Mashpee, Eastham and Truro participated in “Shop with a Cop.”
The students were each given a $100 gift card and received 10 percent off their purchases.
Students were also given backpacks filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year.
The program received donations from a variety of citizens and groups to enable the purchase of everything needed.
The majority of students across the Cape return to school after Labor Day.
