Children’s Cove Gets $10,000 Grant from Rite-Aid

childrens cove01HYANNIS – The local non-profit agency Children’s Cove received a $10,000 grant from Rite-Aid  to use towards its programs.

The presentation was given at the Rite-Aid on West Main Street in Hyannis on Wednesday.

The charity is a selection as a Rite Aid Foundation KidCents charity.

The KidCents program gives Rite Aid customers and wellness+ customers the opportunity to round up their purchase and donate the change to a charity of their choice.

Children’s Cove was nominated and invited to participate by local Rite Aid leadership in recognition of its work in dealing with victims of child sexual abuse on the Cape & Islands.

“We are so incredibly thankful to have been selected to the inaugural class of KidCents charities by the Rite Aid Foundation.” said Stacy Gallagher, Executive Director of Children’s Cove. “The $10,000 special initial grant will be a huge help to us as we expand our programs that bring a public focus to the issue, training programs that teach parents and first responders how to respond to suspicions of abuse, and our work helping victims heal. We see over 200 cases per year in our facility, and have recently launched our new TIPNet program.”

Children’s Cove TIPNet (Trauma Informed Provider Network) is designed to provide an opportunity for mental health providers to receive free on-going training in nationally recognized trauma treatment models in exchange for their participation in the organization’s network that offers mental health referrals to children and families.
