A sailor was rescued Monday after the sailboat he was piloting began to take on water Sunday.
Coast Guard Assets from Air Station Cape Cod assisted in the search Monday morning about 450 miles southeast of the Cape.
The 42-foot Belgium flagged Vagrant had only one person on board.
When the captain missed a scheduled call Monday, the Coast Guard dispatched crews that were assisted by commercial vessels in the area.
Eventually one of the civilian boats located and rescued the uninjured man.
