Consumer Assistance Council Offering Service on Outer Cape

gavelWELLFLEET – Outer Cape consumers and merchants involved in disputes will soon have another resource to turn to in hopes of resolving issues.

The Consumer Assistance Council is expanding their services by offering counseling at the Wellfleet Library beginning next month.

The Council’s Executive Director, Kimberly Dinis, says the Consumer Education Council is looking forward to the move because of convenience to those interested in the services of the council. Consumers from the Outer Cape towns may not want to make the drive to the council’s office in Hyannis, she said.

The Cape’s Consumer Assistance Council is assisted by the Attorney General’s Office and handles anywhere from 200 to 700 cases a year.

The service will be available at the library on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
