Cotuit Center for The Arts Welcomes Sculptor Robert Greene for Exhibition

Cotuit Center for the ArtsCOTUIT – The Cotuit Center for the Arts will welcome works by sculptor Robert Greene for a month-long exhibition.

Greene works with wood and primarily creates abstract forms taken from the human body and derived from the human condition.

“I tend of think of my work as drawings crafted in wood, and by doing so, I strive to attain a frenetic quality in the sculpture that has some level of control over the material, while also expressing some level of chaos”

The exhibit will run from March 25 through April 22. An Artist Talk is planned for opening day, March 25 at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at 7 p.m.

The Art Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Greene teaches sculpting as an assistant professor at Eastern Connecticut State University and operates a studio in Ledyard, Connecticut. His work has been on display in multiple locations up and down the East Coast. His art has been recognized by both the Boston Globe and the New York Times.

Greene’s display comes as part of the Cape Cod Fiber Arts show, which is a loosely organized group of artists who engage in fiber art, using textiles, wools, threads, and cloths.
