County Commissioners To Hold Beginning of the Year Meeting

BARNSTABLE – As they do at the beginning of each year, the Barnstable County Commissioners will meet on the first business day of the new year to elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

Monday’s meeting takes place at 10 am in the Commissioners Chambers of the Barnstable Superior Courthouse Building.

A vote will be taken on whether to request quotes from law firms interested in becoming the county’s legal counsel. Commissioners debated the matter for much of 2015. Sandwich attorney Robert Troy has served as counsel since 1992 and would be considered should commissioners decide to search for new counsel.

Commissioners will also get status updates on a number of matters, including the county budget, and will make committee appointments.
