Cranberry Cluster Dog Show Underway in Falmouth

Dog-BeachFALMOUTH – The annual Cranberry Cluster Dog Shows are taking place this weekend in Falmouth, the show has been going on since the 1940s.

It features over 1,000 dogs from around the country and they are all American Kennel Club certified, according to John Cappellina, the president of the Cape Cod Kennel Club.

Cappellina said the show also offers a special certification for domestic dogs called the Canine Good Citizen Test.

“It’s a title the AKC gives that any dog can get that tests obedience. A lot of insurance companies like to see that the dogs in the house have the Canine Good Citizen certificate and have passed the test on their behavior,” he said.

The show is being held at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds through Sunday.
