Dead Whale Found In Harbor

BARNSTABLE – The International Fund for Animal Welfare is dealing with a dead Minke whale that showed up in Barnstable Harbor on Sunday.

IFAW Communications Director Michael Booth said the 18 foot whale was seen swimming in shallow water on Saturday and then washed up in the harbor on Sunday.

IFAW will conduct a necropsy on the animal in hopes of determining a cause of death.
