BARNSTABLE – This past weekend kept rescuers busy as dozens of sea turtles became stranded on the Cape.

Forty-five turtles were rescued on beaches from Dennis to Truro, including 28 on Sunday alone, the busiest single day for turtle strandings in 15 years.

Those turtles have been taken to the New England Aquarium’s sea turtle hospital in Quincy, where they will be rehabilitated and released back into warmer waters when healthy.
