EPA Seeks Public Input on Modified Training at Camp Edwards

ThinkstockPhotos-78053756BOURNE – The EPA is seeking public comment on a proposed agreement to allow the Massachusetts Army National Guard to train with a “Percussion Activated Neutralizer” at Camp Edwards on Joint Base Cape Cod.

The comment period runs until January 21, and gives the public an opportunity to provide their input on the modification to the EPA’s 1997 Safe Drinking Water Act Administrative Order.

The authorization process is part of the EPA’s regulatory role at the Massachusetts Military Reservation to protect the sole source Cape Cod Aquifer.

The EPA is not expecting the chemical makeup and use of the items to present a threat to the aquifer.
