Falmouth Home Struck by Car

fire department patchFALMOUTH – A woman crashed her car into her neighbor’s home on Davisville Road home Saturday night in Falmouth.

The one-car crash happened around 11:30 p.m., according to Falmouth Police Lt. Sean Doyle.

Barbara Hatzmann, 54, of East Falmouth was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. She was attempting to back into her driveway and instead hit the accelerator and crashed into her neighbor’s yard and home, according to police. The fence, deck and front of the house were damaged.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Tim Smith, the vehicle struck the porch of the residence and did not damage the structure of the home.

There were no injuries reported.

Smith said the building department is following up with an assessment on the damage.

Falmouth Police are investigating.
