Falmouth Judge Placed on Leave Amid Allegation

Falmouth District Court - 2FALMOUTH – The first justice of the Falmouth District Court was suspended earlier this summer and put on paid administrative leave.

Judge Michael Creedon was removed from the bench on June 30 after an allegation was made to the Commission on Judicial Conduct, according to Trial Court spokesperson Jennifer Donahue.

The nature of the allegation and the name of the person who made it have not been released. Creedon has been the first justice in Falmouth since 1999.

He was appointed as a judge by Gov. William Weld in 1996.

The Brockton native had a career in politics prior to joining the bench, serving in the State House of Representatives and State Senate.

Creedon received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from Suffolk University.

Donahue could not comment further, except to say that the judge remains on leave.

According to the Commission on Judicial Conduct’s website, the state agency is responsible for investigating complaints alleging that a state court judge has engaged in judicial misconduct or has a disability preventing him or her from properly performing judicial duties.

Judge Kathryn Hand has been appointed the acting first justice in Falmouth during Creedon’s absence.
