FALMOUTH – A 35-year-old Falmouth man is involved in a series of assaults yesterday in several locations in Falmouth.
Robert Green, 35, of Falmouth is charged with assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery, malicious destruction of property and larceny, among other charges.
Police first became involved at 9 p.m. when they were dispatched to Walmart for a report of an assault and battery.
They found a 29-year-old man who was suffering from head trauma and said he had an altercation with Green. The man alleged that Green punched him, knocked him out, then stomped on his head causing significant injuries. Green had already fled the area.
At approximately 10:55 PM, police were dispatched to the Windfall Market parking lot for a stabbing.
Two women who had been with Robert Green a few minutes prior were in a fight. One of the women, a 30-year-old East Falmouth resident, had been stabbed numerous times in her back.
She was taken by ambulance to a Boston area hospital.
The other woman, the suspect in the stabbing, a 24-year-old Falmouth woman, has not yet been located.
At approximately 12:34 AM, police were dispatched to a residence on Homestead Lane for a fight. During the fight, Robert Green allegedly shot a bow and arrow at a 35-year-old East Falmouth man, narrowly missing him. Green then fled the residence.
At approximately 1:26 AM, police were called back to the Homestead Lane address because Green had returned and was smashing the windows to the residence. He also reportedly assaulted a 39-year-old Falmouth resident.
Captain Barney Murphy from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office was on scene almost immediately and he placed Green under arrest.
The matter remains under investigation and there are likely to be other people charged in connection with the incidents. None of the crimes were random and drugs and alcohol appeared to play role in the incidents, according to police.
