PROVINCETOWN – Three finalists for the open Town Manager position in Provincetown were presented to the Board of Selectmen Monday night.

The finalists are Roy Withrow, who serves as the Assistant Village Manager in Lake Zurich, Illinois; Richard Reinhard, the Deputy Director of the Washington D.C. Business Improvement District; and Michelle Jarusiewicz, a longtime Provincetown employee.

Provincetown Board of Selectmen Chairman Tom Donegan said they are looking for the right candidate for the unique challenges Provincetown presents.

“In the summer, we’re a little city. We have 30,000 to 40,000 people in three square miles. We have all of the elements of an urban situation. And come the winter, we are in fact a small town, a very small town,” he said. “Most town managers, every day they get up, their day is more or less like the last couple of days or a day six months ago. We’re in fact two towns, a winter community and a summer community, so we need a lot of flexibility, I think, in our town manager.”

The vacancy was created earlier this year after former town manager Sharon Lynn accepted a position in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
