Finalists for Truro Town Administrator to be Named Next Week

highland light truroTRURO – The search is ongoing for a new town administrator in Truro as the town works to fill the position left by the passing of former town administrator Rex Peterson in February.

The search committee will present a list of finalists to selectmen next week.

About 50 people have applied for the job in the town of about 2,000.

Jay Coburn, the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, said he is pleased by the number of applicants.

“There are a lot of dynamic and exciting things going on in the community, and a lot of folks looked at this as a great opportunity and applied,” Coburn said.

The town does not require its Administrator to be a resident, but Coburn would prefer the right candidate to be a local.

“My personal feeling is that somebody who either lives or is going to live in town or in a neighboring community is really the best situation…I think it’s also really helpful to live in the community or live in the region and understand the unique challenges our town faces,” he said.

The annual salary for the position is $115,000.
