Fire In Apartment Building in Hyannis

HYANNIS – A blaze in Hyannis last night caused heavy damage to an apartment building at 135 Main Street.

The fire broke out about at about seven o’clock.

Hyannis Fire Captain Eric Farrekopf says a tenant in an upstairs apartment left a pot of oil on the stove and then made a trip to the grocery store.

Crews got the fire under control in less than half an hour, there were no injuries.
