Firefighters Put Out Fire at Rodeway Inn in Orleans

fire department patchORLEANS – Firefighters extinguished a fire this afternoon at the Rodeway Inn on Route 6A in Orleans.

Orleans Fire Captain Tim Gula said the fire started when a contractor was saudering pipes that were on the outside of the building.

The fire was knocked down quickly and was prevented from speading, according to Gula.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Gula estimated the damage to be around $2,000.

The fire was located near the office of the two-story motel.

Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes to an hour.
