YARMOUTH – Members of the Yarmouth Police Department will be bagging groceries tomorrow as part of a Jimmy Fund fundraiser.
On Friday, August 29 between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m., officers will be at the Stop & Shop on Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth.
Yarmouth Police Deputy Chief Steven Xiarhos said, the effort is a unique and innovative Community Policing Partnership Building event that will also serve as chance to donate to The Jimmy Fund.
The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against cancer at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care, and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.
Members of the Yarmouth Police Community Advisory Team (CAT) will also be volunteering for this event.
