BARNSTABLE – Even though the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted a below average hurricane season, Governor Charlie Baker is stressing the importance of being prepared.
July is the Hurricane Preparedness Month in Massachusetts.
Hurricane planning should include having an emergency kit ready, knowing your evacuation zone, having a family communication plan and staying informed.
The majority of tropical storms and hurricanes that have hit the region have occurred in August and September.
The hurricane season runs through the end of November.
