HARWICH – The Harwich Water Department will begin water main flushing Monday.
The flushing will take place weekdays between 8 p.m. and midnight through June 30 in the areas of North Harwich, West Harwich and Harwich Port.
Signs will be posted in the flushing areas and the town is recommending residents set aside clean water for drinking and cooking in case of discoloration.
Temporary discoloration and a high chlorine taste is to be expected during the flushing period and the Water Department also recommends checking water for clarity before doing laundry.
