Headline Events Still to Come for Falmouth Jazzfest

Jazz2FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Jazzfest is underway and events two main attractions are still to come.

The Friday Night Jazz Stroll, a free event, features 13 different jazz bands along Main Street in Falmouth.

Roger Day, Chairman of the Arts Foundation, says the stroll has a variety of different types of jazz.

“Walk down Main Street and have a bite to eat, have a drink and work your way down the street and listen to 13 different groups,” said Day. “Each of which is playing something different than the other.”

The stroll is also unique where visitors can move from venue to venue.

“It allows people to start at one end of the street and walk along and walk in and out and if they find something they enjoy listening to, great. If they hate it they can go next door,” Day said.

The headline performance of Jazzfest is Grammy award winner Catherine Russell playing a Highfield Theater on Saturday Night at 7:30.

“She’s a wonderful singer with a wonderful trio backing her up,” Day said. “All I can say is she is going to give a whale of a concert.”

The final two events of Jazzfest are Goodis & Glenn Jazz Brunch at Persy’s Place on Sunday at 11 a.m. and The Dave Zinno Quartet at Woods Hole Community Hall on Wednesday, October 8 at 8 p.m.

The first three events of the festival all sold out.
