Heritage to Host Eclipse-Themed Activities Monday

The Heritage Museums and Gardens

SANDWICH – Residents and visitors on the Cape will experience a partial solar eclipse Monday and Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich is celebrating with a day of special activities.

Attendees to Heritage will receive a free pair of safe viewing glasses, their own pinhole projector, and moon- and sun-themed food.

Eclipse activities also include a discussion with astronomy expert Gil Newton.

“This celestial event presents a great opportunity to come to Heritage for a day of fun and learning together about the natural world,” said Ellen Spear, the president and CEO of Heritage Museums & Gardens. “We encourage visitors to come for the day, spread a blanket on the Parade Field in the afternoon, make a pinhole projector and view the solar eclipse together.”

The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. with the ultimate expression of the eclipse at about 2:30 p.m.
